A young husband and wife had a job guaranteed through Texas Workforce, however, they did not have the funds to complete the ISTC special training required to begin. United Board of Missions, a local Mid and South Jefferson County agency, was able to help through their new Emergency Assistance program which assists in gaining access to employment opportunities. By contacting the ISTC office, UMB was able to pay the required training fees for both the husband and wife. They took the classes needed and began full-time employment on the required start date. They are now able to meet their monthly bills and have become self-sufficient.
