2016 Honoree - Industry Partners
Friday, September 16, 2016, United Way of Mid and South Jefferson County marked the beginning of our campaign season with the annual Honoree and Campaign Kickoff Luncheon held at the United Methodist Temple in Port Arthur. This year's Honoree's are our industrial neighbors who impact our community. These partners -- BASF, Flint Hills, Golden Pass LNG, Huntsman, TPC, Turner, Valero, Zachry and more -- have increased their employee and corporate contributions over the past years, some by as much as 400%! They are made of employees from all over Southeast Texas, the majority living in our service area of Port Arthur including Sabine Pass, Port Neches, Nederland, and Groves, who have come together not only in giving but also in volunteering to promote the good work of our 20 partner agencies, our programs, and our fundraising.
United Way of Mid and South Jefferson County is involved in programs such as free tax preparation, school supply drives, youth reading programs and more. We also hold family fun and informative fundraisers throughout the year such as the BASF TOTAL Live United 5K, Golden Triangle Emergency Center Golf United Golf Tournament, and Motiva Mistletoe Market. We are able to do all of this and more with the participation of our corporate sponsors, their employees, and the residents of our community. The richest resource in Southeast Texas is our people--together we strive for a better and stronger community.
